TAIWAN EXTRAVAGANZA

National Palace Museum

Statue of Dr Sun Yat Sen

Statue of Chiang Kai Shek

Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall

Taiwan's capital Taipei is not a city of surprises. The popular sights have been around for some time. The attractions continue to dazzle as the venue, ambience, surroundings and showcases are given new face-lifts and make-overs.
With the Metro MRT system which was operational a few years ago all these locations are now easily reachable via the MRT system.
Many of the age-old attractions continue to be a popular draw to the old "faithfuls".
Yours truly was last in Taiwan some 32 years ago. That is indeed a long time ago. However wonderful memories linger on. The sights remain relevant and familiar. Only times have changed. We too have changed but much of Taipei remain timeless and unchanging as far as the popular attractions are concerned. The concrete jungle has sprouted in recent years and the Metro MRT system now takes pride of place.
